Report written by Nicky Woodall (she/her)
๐ฅณ15 fun-loving GoodGymmers met on a pleasant (and light!) Monday evening for our weekly group run ๐
๐We were thrilled to welcome Kathryn for her first GoodGym session, and Rob, the new Area Activator for GoodGym Leeds (look out for some joint York-Leeds sessions in future ๐).
๐คAfter attempting to name our favourite fictional mothers in honour of Mother's Day (maybe a tad niche for quick thinking, though Petunia Dursley made a notable appearance ๐คฃ), we warmed up.
๐ธLeanne and Max led us on the scenic route to Greenfields Gardens tonight, to avoid the busy inner streets of York. On arrival, we were greeted by Louise who introduced us to the gardens. We witnessed the blossoming fruit and nut trees and heard about the variety of produce being grown there ๐
๐ฑWe quickly got to work, tackling the brambles. Some people chopped back while others dug up the roots and others ferried the wheelbarrows. Oh, and Martin and David dug a hole for a new tree. There was some impressively hard work, leading to some impressively big roots being evicted from the soil ๐ช
โ In no time at all, we'd made some great progress and it was time to call it a night (though it was still light ๐).
๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธWe took another (slightly less) scenic route back to CVS in time for a quick fitness session before parting ways.
๐Thank you everyone, it was great to see you all and hopefully see you again soon. Have a look at everything we've got coming up here ๐
