Mrs J has been receiving ongoing support with her weekly shops over the past couple of months from Hero's at Oxford Hub. While she was waiting for her new volunteer to begin next week I was able to get her weekly shop again! Lots of rich tea biscuits for her little dog (and carrots!), and lots of snacks, ready meals, and supplies for Mrs J.
I waited while Mrs J put away the freezer and important fridge items, but after dropping the bags off and taking her little dog for a wander down the road, I then gave Mrs J a phone call to explain items in the rest of the bags, as he is heavily visually impaired. From experience, ripping or defacing items that have a similar shape but are different (IE tins of soup or different flavour ready meals) is a big boost to Mrs J, as she can identify what shes eating rather than having to plat Russian roulette with her food.... and having to eat a tin of custard in place of chicken soup for dinner!
From the pictures, you can see my own dogs at their watch post watching me load all the yummy food into the car and driving away with it (to their disappointment!)
Hope you've all been enjoying doing good deeds in the wet wet wet (and relinquishing the cool cool cool!).
Extra dogs pictures for extra fun! The perks of working from home!
