Jus gimme me the light…and run the show…bust another couple of miles…cause I’m inna di vibes…and I gotta my flow
The sun always shines on me
A-ha! Yes! The light is back and we no longer need to wear head torches. So good to be out running in the daylight and on a relatively warm spring evening. We really did have a spring in our steps today and some happy shiny people. It was one of our longer runs this evening, a nice 4.5km each way to Our Lady of Peace School, which actually never feels that long a run…just that hill on Burham Lane! but what goes up must come down. Thank you to Darren for back marking today and to Ricky for front leading. And another welcome to Gauri for her first group run
The Great British Burpee (Off!)
I did warn the team that my April challenge is to do 2000 burpees in 30 days and I only managed to do 30 at home today so somewhere during the session another 36 needed to be fitted in.. The plan was - 10 burpees during the warm up….6 burpees at Bath Rd Retail Park…20 burpees at the end of the task The actual outcome was - 10 burpees during warm up and me alone doing 33 during the task! Same number next week? Or maybe you’d like me to bog off with my burpees? I’m sure I heard a couple of ‘off’s’ whilst the runners were doing these
I’m Going to Sweep You off Your Feet
On arrival at Our Lady of Peace School, we met Paul who gave us a sweeping statement of the task he wanted us to do…which was basically to sweep the playground of what looked like sand So we got our tools out and cracked on with the task. The actual task today didn’t take too long so we decided to show our party tricks…I say we, in reality it was just Darren…one man, his hand, a broom oh and his chin! (check out the photo’s so you get the picture!)
Playground TickTacs
It’s not often grown adults get to play in a school playground, so we thought we would make the best of it and had a game of stuck in the mud. Emily played hopscotch and everyone made a new BFF on the Friendship Bench…though Darren ditched me for Ruth at some point Oh and somewhere along the way, Emily disappeared to make friends with the school cat
Age ain’t Nothin’ but a Number
True to form we thought we would see if we had aged since our last visit to the school. Although most of us showed no signs of progression…a couple of us had moved up a grade. Congratulations to Sandy and Ricky. Must try harder everyone else!
We then headed back to base with one mission….to beat the sunset.
Next week’s task is with a new task owner, the Singh Sabha Sports Centre. It’s a 2km run each way so ideal for any first timers
Have a great sun-shining week
