7 Goodgym runners (and cyclists) joined us for our first task with newly listed organisation "Care4Calais" (https://care4calais.org/), a 100% volunteer run initiative that offers aids to UK based homeless and asylum seekers. The team in Clerkenwell had recently been offered a large donation of vital clothes (coats, tops, trousers, shoes) and other essentials (shampoos, soaps, toothpaste), but really needed a few extra hands to sort them before distributing these items to those in need.

Our first task involved seperating all the amassed donations into groups, depending on the item and the size required. Our volunteer coordinator, Faye, then gave us a clear list of required items for local asylum seekers, and we tried to sourced the right clothing wherever we could.

After collecting up 12 bags, half of our team walked together to Old Street (15 min away) with the selected items, and we distributed between the asylum seekers currently housed in a local hotel. A great way to finish off a morning's hard work!
