Spurred on by a morning of marathon watching (on the TV!) and the inspirational stories, Kate and I met up in Kingston to spread a little bit of joy of our own.

We were helping Mr L, a lovely gentleman who unfortunately hasn’t been able to do the gardening he loves since breaking his hip a few months ago.

Following a Goodgym mission at the start of the month to de-weed the flowerbeds, there was still plenty more to be done to get them looking their best! We got stuck in with sieving out the large stones from the soil and removing yet more weeds that had sprung up. Kate’s slightly over enthusiastic sieve filling provided a great opportunity for a dose of goodgym teamwork, as we shook it back and forth between us to reveal the troublesome rocks. After raking out the flowerbeds and sweeping up the mess we’d made, we finished off with a quick photo opportunity in one of the mirrors dotted around the garden and took the obligatory after shot showing off our hard work.

Mr L popped down to say hello and was very grateful for all our help. He is looking forward to being able to plant some cucumbers and peppers in the flowerbeds once they are fully sorted!
