Monday 12th January

Amy Winter (She/Her) earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Amy completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Amy was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Five Goodgymers were ready on hand to help Refugee Action Kingston. Rachel, Laurel and Amy helped minimise and sorted out piles of donated clothes for children and teens. While this was happening, Anna and Emily waddled like penguins to shift and swap two fridges around, from one of the kitchen to another in the office. Emily was brave enough to get into tight spaces behind one of the fridges!

The New Malden Town Centre Partnership (NMTCP) hosted a special evening to thank all their volunteers and supporters. GoodGym got a mention with a special thanks to Emily for her tireless support. Dani got all emotional when she presented Emily with a basket of treats - and so did we! Well done, Emily, for your effort and support for Jubilee Square.

A big January Challenge squad was out on a chilly night as we headed back to the British Heart Foundation shop for some more window dressing. Emily, Clare, Dave, Anna, Luke, Susannah, Jonathan, Eleanor, Amy, Laurel, Tom, Marcos and Rachel were quickly called into action by fetching sporting and gym items from the cavernous storage areas upstairs to hopefully encourage buyers to start thinking about fitness and exercise.
We got there in the end, with particular aesthetic guidance from Susannah and a final inspirational touch from Marcos to hang badminton racquets from the ceiling.
It's always a really fun task with the BHF and this was no different. A bit cold for too much running, but extra kudos to those who did.
