8 GG Yorkies enjoyed a run in the fresh January air on a bright Sunday afternoon. 7 of us met at St Paul's Terrace, early for our 3pm start. 3pm went and nobody arrived. Luckily Egg was on hand to call Jules, and it turned out we were all in the wrong place. We quickly jogged around the corner and met Jules and Mel, who had run passed the correct place and sensibly stopped (unlike Lyndsay who had seen Jules gardening, and thought 'what a coincidence', then kept running).

We were at a small green area that has been nurtured by members of the local community as well as by the junior school, where children can play safely and explore nature.

Our task was to clear all the overgrown grass and weeds from around the base of the fruit trees, and to tidy up the patches of wild flowers that were becoming overgrown with grass. We set about our business quickly as we were all getting cold. There was lots of digging and pulling. Nick was tugging so hard on one weed, that when it finally released it's grip on the ground, he went absolutely flying!!!

Within a short space of time, we had cleared around all the trees, and one wild flower meadow was ready for all the bulbs to flower in Spring. We filled all the bags and tidied away the tools. We even got a thank you from a grateful resident.
