SESSION ORGANISER

Report written by Brahma Pochee
Exclusively a session for the tough, gritty and resolute. With belting rain showers married with gusty winds, an irregular occasion to work against natures resistance.
RWQ was "what phases or fads did you go through in your youth?" I kicked things off, dressed as a rude-boy, but still said please and thanks. Shaz styled herself with a Duran Duran hairdo. Hils was true to herself, but identified more with anti-pop music. Dan again a rock of consistency, fadless youth for him up north. Ruth, on the other hand, Emo to pop culture, flittering between identities like teenagers do so well. Kev a Two-Tone and Ska purveyor once upon a time, potentially the best dressed of the teenage callings.
Minds quickly turned to the task at hand after departing PrintHouse. We managed an explosive leg session, featuring a few powerful jumps. Which led us onto our half minute controlled sprints, by this time it was chucking it down, the bare trees providing no shelter, the wind direction becoming very apparent. The intention was to work through energy systems, with power into endurance, with our 500m loop out of action, we used the stadium as our endurance lap instead. About twice as long as what we had planned, but we scrapped the core - so let's call it evens. There was a testing lap out there, some even managed two. Those longer reps where you run 3min + quicker than 5k race pace are difficult, but enormously effective.
Massive respect to you all, showed up, didn't complain and got the session done in style.
Next week we celebrate Sharon's b'day at Cody Dock, I implore all to sign up https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/cody-dock-social
