Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Louise Chambers
A fantastic 4 winged wonders (averaging a fabulous 127 good deeds each) proved that few hands can still make light work of a task.
Happy birthday to Bradley, who was born 31 years ago today, coincidentally on the same day that Tim was getting married (happy anniversary Tim).
After a quick warm-up in the park, we dodged the puddles along the dark paths before heading back onto the streets to Anerley Town Hall, only a short hop from our start point. We were met by the lovely Robert, who was prepared with gloves and torches for us. Tonight's task was to temporarily move a variety of sports equipment from a store room, to make space for 2 large cupboards and a filing cabinet from the container in the car park. Whilst it was tempting to play with the hula hoops and basketballs (we saved that for the end of the task!), we quickly cleared the room before heading through the newly refurbished former library space, which is looking fantastic, to the container. Whilst there were some tricky low doors and corners to negotiate, our fabulous team had soon maneuvered the cupboards through the corridors and into the storage room, piling the sports equipment in, on and in-front of the new storage, but not before Ian had shown off his football control skills and Hannah wowed us with her impressive hula hooping.
We just had time to move a small table into the library and some desk parts down into the basement before it was time to head off. Birthday cake was calling us but before we indulged we earned our treats with a wall sit, triceps dips and press ups/planks against a barrier in the glamorous surroundings of Homebase car park. It was only a very short jog back to our start point, and Hannah's delicious apple cake (and my not quite as delicious oaty/peanuty energy bar-esque experiments).
We're returning to Anerley Town Hall next week, sign up here.
