5 GG Yorkies met up with a plan to clear garden space for an allotment. Our lovely host was very welcoming and provided us with an excellent selection of new and sharp tools, as well as lots of wheelie bin space.
The planned allotment area was at the bottom of the garden, an area that had once been used to cultivate brambles, been had now become overgrown. The access was slightly restricted due to the rest of the garden being overgrown, so we started clearing.
We started by cutting back the tall grasses which started to reveal a pretty paved path, and a patio area designed by our host.
Barbara set about clearing the patio, which will eventually become a lawn. She was humping and dumping huge paving slabs like a pro.
Leanne was hard at work clearing the path which was completely overgrown with grass. Then she found a flowerbed, so busied herself clearing all the weeds and revealing a lovely plant and what looked like a home made brick BBQ!
Nicky cleared a huge area of path allowing access to the greenhouse, and then dug up all the old disorganised turf around the patio so the new lawn will have more space.
Egg chopped back an overgrown apple tree with Barbara, then cleared loads of overgrown plants and grasses, before moving on to clear to top end of the path which will eventually lead to the allotment.
Before long we had cleared most of the front half of the garden, leaving loads of space for us to return to clear those pesky brambles so that an allotment can be born.
