5 GG’s arrived for a specific task at Poppleton Railway Nursery, and after the usual H&S talk, we were off. Jenna, Richard and Laura went down the road with empty wheelbarrows to fill them up with rough earth, whilst Mitch and I (Val from GG Portsmouth) were introduced to the compost seiver, we affectionately named her B’earth’a! There were already some wheelbarrows with rough stuff, so Mitch started filling B’earth’a, whilst I removed the dross from the other end of the machine. The lovely clean earth was coming out a quite a good rate, and there was a steady flow of wheelbarrows being emptied of the rough. being filled with the smooth, emptied and refilled, ready to go into the compost bins in the large railway shed. It was a hive of activity, with people swapping roles and generally having a great time! We have been reliably informed by the good folk of Poppleton Railway Nursery that ‘the composting will go on’
