Three...is the magic number! After all, there were three musketeers and three wise monkeys, the genie grants three wishes and good things come in threes - which is why when we were a small but powerful team of three GGers last night, we were not going to be deterred!

After a quick warm up, Alica, Hannah and I ran down to Doddington roof garden, a multistory carpark which has been transformed into a beautiful community space, to help out.

When we arrived we were relieved to see that the job we thought we might be tackling, moving bags of mulch up the stairs to the roof, hadn't come through as Malissa, the lead volunteer, was unable to get the bags in time. Phew - that would've been a big ask for just the three of us! Instead we each had our own job to do - Alice got stuck in giving the beds a big water with a hose that wasn't prepared to play ball, while Hannah was tasked with replanting a 'salvia amistad' (we're learning!) as I trimmed a dead vine.

Dodging the MANY spiders, and watched over by the group of cats that live in the garden, we pruned, dug and rehydrated until it got dark. After a little lesson on the many types of sage from Malissa, we set off on our run back to the BAC discussing Russian nursery rhymes, the best parkruns, spider bites and what on earth British Daylight Saving is all about!

We'll be doing it all over again next week, so ope to see you then! Happy running, GoodGym.
