A quiet drizzly Wednesday. A phrase that to many would mean curling up on the sofa and watching some TV. To be honest that does sound appealing and yet it feels much better after a run, litter picking and seeing a remarkable difference and some leg strength training.
We jogged down from The Mercury to Sheepen Road, where the paths from Hilly Fields converge next to Colchester Institute and St Helena School. Where parents sit in cars and where clearly people go to drink and smoke! Not the most glamerous location but each to their own!
Cider and beer cans, crisps, a shoe, packaging and a 64 registration plate among the finds.
As the drizzle turned to rain we headed up the hill to lunge and bunny hop around for 5 minutes until returning to base.
Bravo team GG Colch.
Litter blights our streets, parks and beaches and costs us millions of pounds to clear up every year. Keep Britain Tidy is here to inspire people to eliminate litter now and for future generations. This is about more than simply getting people to pick up litter. We aim to change behaviour permanently by spotlighting the problem daily and offering creative solutions. We work with people, businesses, local authorities and government to educate, innovate and inspire - improving the environment on everyone’s doorstep.
