Colchester Report written by Frazer
On a light and sunny April evening we were joined by an ever growing team of Goodgymmers to tackle some local litter. We were joined this week by new members Ray and Madeleine - who quickly got up to speed by collecting many ciggarettes and random plastic lumps.
Strolling through town gives great chance to get to know new members and discuss reasons for supporting Goodgym, we also got stopped for praise by passers by, which is always nice. Chat covered schools and parts of town, rare litter finds and running (I'm still going on about my Paris marathon).
We wrapped up our new route in the Abbey fields playground, where i somewhat bemoaned the lack of litter this time round, if only our town was more filthy. However, our large group would have made light work on any route, onto the foodbank next week!

A lovely evening for a litter picking task to help out at one of the Colchester Borough Homes residences. We were also tasked with clearing sticks and twigs from the paths to help remove trip hazards for the residents. We managed to avoid the scattered rain showers thankfully and our four GoodGymers did a great job for which Linda at CBH was very thankful. It was also a chance to celebrate Frazer's fantastic achievement at the Paris marathon where he clocked in just under 4 hours! Well done Frazer!

A lovely sunny evening for seven GoodGymers to support Colchester in Bloom by helping out at the allotment. This session focused on clearing out the greenhouses and tackling the overgrown beds through digging and weeding.
We were delighted to welcome a new member, Madeleine, to the group. Maddie got stuck straight in to the digging and weeding!
With a strong team effort, we made great progress, much to the delight of Pam from Colchester in Bloom, who was thoroughly impressed with how much we managed to achieve in one evening.
We’re already looking forward to returning to the allotment soon to continue the good work!

A pleasant warm evening, though still a little deceptively chilly, bought 5 Goodgymmers together in town for a good old fashioned litter picking. In a familiar route we snapped up the usual gallery of cigarette butts, drinks bottles and tissues. There was also a plastic lump we declared as likely not Roman era, plus a metal rack Louise insisted on calling a weapon.
Much litter collected in all, plus some nice chat and much to look forward to in the coming months, thats what Tuesdays are all about!

On a pleasant and ever lightening spring evening we amassed a small but eager group to once more clean the foodbank.
We were blessed with two new Goodgymmers! A big welcome to Gigi and Hridya on their first task, along with the new joiners from our last task its an exciting phase of growth for the team. Skipping any running this week, various illness and children's bedtimes getting in the way, we made light work for sweeping the floors and a very thorough mopping, perhaps its deepest clean yet.
Great to welcome new members and look ahead to upcoming tasks, our spring clean has put us all in good mood.

We were delighted to have two new/ish GoodGymers join us this evening for some moss clearing. Well done to Henryfor his first and Lukefor his second task!
A lighter evening but still a slightly chilly one. We scrubbed and brushed at the moss around the grounds at Cherry Trees. This helped to keep ourselves warm and the residents safe.
Thanks all and see you next time!
