These short lunch missions are a great chance to return to your desk with a sense of purpose and a spring in your step.

Three egg baguette lunches and a slow 5K run (selfies take time you know). After picking up my deliveries from St Hilda’s East I met an elderly gent who thanked Goodgym Tower Hamlets for saving his dignity and keeping him sane.

Many of our seniors will be feeling disillusioned and neglected through no particular fault of anyone but as a result of the peculiar circumstances we’re faced with.

It is therefore vital that we knock, call, text, Skype, email, FaceTime and do whatever is needed to stay in touch with one another.

For many of our seniors these brief lunch visits are a lifeline.

I say this with no exaggeration at all.
