I'd noticed quite a bit of litter in Ladywell Fields over the weekend and decided that would be our destination to maximise litter picking potential, only to find once we arrived that the litter I'd noticed had already been collected. Not to let that dampen our spirits we set out into the dark armed with headtorches to see what we could find. Highlights included a DVD player and a full bottle of fabric softener!
Onto the other side of Ladywell Fields and one group split into 2 and tackled either side of the running track and the rest headed off to tackle the rest of Ladywell Fields. Pickings were slim but there was still some litter for us to collect! A decision was made that it's an overall good thing that we didn't have too much litter to collect as it meant people were using the bins or taking the litter home.
We still managed to fill one of "The Beast" bin bags and a couple of small bin bags - great work team!
We said our goodbyes to Oli and Isaac and made our way back to Glass Mill with time to spare for the TIME TRIAL. The time trial consists of a maximum of 4 loops (1km) of the green space outside Glass Mill and the aim is to run as hard as you can for the amount of laps you want to do and then see how you improve month on month. It was a great effort from everyone who got involved tonight including a very very close sprint finish between Sam and Oli.
