Today Mike and Milly took to the task of clearing the never ending litter around the foodbank in Hanwell. This is a hotspot for litter so they are always grateful for the help.

We were given some very apt christmas pudding bin bags for the job.

Slim pickings today, we filled two binbags-although we found two jackets, more plastic gloves than you can imagine and several beer cans.

We waited for the other guys to finish their mission inside the foodbank and got stuck in helping out with odd jobs. including stocking up, organising long life milk by date, smashing up cardboard boxes and more.

Afterwards it was off for a socially distanced walk and coffee.

Helping local people in crisis

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
