Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Mitch
9 Goodgymers, (plus Leanne, Paul Kelly and Huw!) went to Scarcroft Green to cut back elder trees and tidy the area as some people have apparently used the site as a rubbish bin...and as a toilet. The task was already started on Monday’s group run, so we just finished off their hard work.
Throughout the next hour there was much destruction, with everybody snapping and sawing all the branches they could. There was also shouts of "TIMBER" and GoodGymers running away as we cut down large parts of the trees. Even in this carnage, we still had many insightful conversations:
“I was drunk and didn’t have a poo in a garden” Lizzie
We’ll leave it at that.
After an hour of cutting down trees and injuring ourselves snapping the branches, Tim had to leave early; fortunately for us we were then joined by Leanne and Paul who were at a nearby mission...and then Huw. With a full team we were able to finish off the final tree and tidy up the branches no time.
In other news it was Paul's birthday and we celebrated it in typical fashion…with a Pork Pie of course!
