Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Liv Parker-Scott
The eagle eyed amongst the runners tonight will have noticed a change in trainer tonight as myself, Olivia, covered for Alex whilst he's resting up after his amazing marathon in NYC yesterday! My usual haunt is GoodGym Ealing and it was great to come across the other side of town to see what Tower Hamlets was all about!
What a great group!
Our task was to distribute flyers and newsletters to key housing estates in the Aldgate area on behalf of the lovely Laura and Aldgate Community events.
After meeting at the very fancy Town Hall Hotel and checking into our room (yes seriously, it was pretty awesome!) we were off into the night! The run was just under 2 miles each way and we stuck together at a chatty pace, it was great to talk to so many people in the group about running, GoodGym and life in general!
Upon arrival Laura split us into two groups to cover more houses in the time we had, with each of us leading a group. Me and my group had one block to tackle and we thought it was only fair that we all start at the top and took the stairs to get in the extra workout!
We made light work of delivering to all the flats and we even treated to our own private fireworks display. Obviously a special treat laid on for doing good deeds!
Meeting back with the other group everyone was happy and pleased we'd got out in then cold and were able to help the local community!
The run back passed in no time at all with lots more chatting and talk of beigels on the horizon. One of the big reasons I run is to eat delicious food and being so close to Brick Lane I couldn't resist popping in on my way to the tube to head back west!
Thank you to all the runners for welcoming me to GoodGym Tower Hamlets and I hope to see you all again soon!
