Report written by Tara Shanahan
Phew what a scorcher! No doubt there will be many run reports starting wth those words this week but it really was hot. Really, really hot, like 30 degrees plus hot! But not hot enough to deter 6 Goodgymers from running nearly 10km to do some good at the Rowan’s Day centre for people rehabilitating from acquired brain injuries.
There were a variety of jobs for us to do, including painting a table and bench and a wooden planter in bright colours, shovelling stones into a wheelbarrow to make room for some plants and laying some bark onto some newly planted beds. Everybody got stuck straight in and the jobs were completed in next to no time.
On the way back some of you did the GG Olympics 1km challenge, a tough run into a head wind at the end of a long, hot run so very well done for taking this on!
Thanks for having me Worthing and well done to you all for coping with the really tough conditions.
The Rowans centre offers a specialist service for people with an acquired brain injury (ABI), physical, sensory or memory impairment, physical disabilities or complex needs.
