Five fantastic runners joined me in Brent on a grey bank holiday evening to help Punch and Juicy!
The task in hand was to build a shed but the evening didn't quite go as we planned!
We had quite an eventful run! And not just cos I took us the wrong way twice - sorry everyone, thankfully I caught myself both times and we didn't lose that much time
An interesting run
Once we arrived at Dog Lane allotments we were bemused to find there were two allotments - we ended up at the wrong one but we met a lovely gardener who gave us all fresh figs - yummy! Once we did find the right allotment and Davina met us we surveyed the task at hand!
We had foundations, we had walls and we had a roof... what wasn't clear was how we were going to get the constituent parts into a shed! With time and light quickly passing by we decided that this was going to be a recce session and we would plan and make sure that we knew what we would do next time.
We cleared the area, and a medley of animals - including a toad - who had settled between all the pieces and then spent our time working out how the pieces would fit together and if they would fit at all. It was a big team effort but we worked out a method that would work and we tested it out. Top planning everyone we've definitely put ourselves in a good position for the next time we come back.
Figs!
With light fading and the threat of being locked in the allotments we decided we had planned enough, we got everything back down and got ourselves out of the allotments! We had a group photo, promised Davina we'd be back soon and off we went. As we had over run (pardon the pun) we took a more direct route back to base and with a good pace we made it back only 15mins late!
Fantastic effort everyone on a bit of a topsy turvy night - we'll be back soon to get this shed done but that'll be a few weeks away! Next week we head to Stonebridge for more fun at the canal - sign up here.
Cheers
