Several GoodGym areas united for this Team GB event, we had Anita from all the way over in Richmond, several friends from down the road in Redbridge, a couple from Southwark and some Newhamites.

Everyone very kindly filled out the induction forms, a last minute request from the organisers, thanks again for that.

Our job was very simple; dish out t-shirts to runners doing celebratory laps of the Stadium. Hopefully a few people got the bug on the way, there was loads of other access events there too. We partook in some athlete spotting, Shauna Coxsey and Emily Campbell (Silver - you were right Shaz) were the two names that we identified. Rock climber and Weightlifter respectively. The other GB kitted athletes were definitely 'sporty', we'll give them that, that's all we could say with confidence.

The hour flew by, the sun came out, we stocked up plenty of tshirts for the next lap and the paid-staff much appreciated our help in manning the tables. I believe AJ stayed on a bit as well - nice one.

The rest of the Newham bunch went over to Get Out Gardens after, some of them ran 15miles in the morning too - woof woof.

Great to meet the runners from other areas, hope you had a fab weekend
