Leading up to the weekend, I'd seen a couple of posters asking for some help to litter pick in and around Westgate Hill Cemetery. As I've often bemoaned the amount of rubbish in the area, I wanted to come and help out.

I arrived to find a very nice chap, who spends his time between Newcastle and Malmo, and created his own little litter picking group. We quickly got to work, and filled a fair few bags within about an hour and half, and the surroundings looked a lot better.

Was good to get confirmation that Newcastle City Council are happy to provide groups with litter picks and bin bags (something that we GG Newcastle could take advantage of...?) and to pick up the bags too (so we don't have to squeeze them into the bins!).
