Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Jer Boon
Six GoodGymers met up at Claverton Down for a Spooky head torch trail run in the dark around the trails of the Bath Skyline path.
With lights on, we ran along through the trees of Long Wood, got (deliberately!) mildly lost in the woods of Freefields, before checking out the views over Bath above Prior Park, and back through Rainbow Wood to our start point.
With our loop finished most of us split up and headed home, while James and I continued northwards for a little more bonus practice in the art of getting hopelessly lost in the dark via (possibly) the wooded quarry area above Bathhampton Wood - which interestingly enough looks totally different in the dark to what it normally looks like in daylight...
Look out for more running activities in the coming weeks, and don’t let today's narrative put you off from coming to my navigation workshop hike later this month - my approach to navigation is basically just a controlled form of knowingly getting lost... haha!
