Another day, another community mission. Today's one was to help keep the footpaths surrounding the Jubilee River free of litter.

Super Sut-erday

We weren't interested in joining the queues for the hairdressers or making our pub table booking...oh no...we were 'picking' ourselves up, donning the red tee's and jogging/walking and even driving down to the River.

On arrival, Super Sutyee was there with the pickers, bin bags and general instructions. Now, she knew it was her 100th good deed today but she didn't know that I knew it was her 100th! In the past we might of had cake to share, but in the 'new world', we just stuck to tik tok videos instead!

Great to see Chrissy back with the team after a bit of a break. We've missed you Chrissy!

Chris ran down this morning, without help from the big G this time as he knew where he was going and was looking forward to getting trolly'ed tonight when the pubs re-open.

Jen did a mega walk from home to the River! Those legs were definately made for walking!

A quick walk and chat to the area in question and we made a start.

Will I look good in this?

It always amazes us on the litter picking hoard that we find. In today's trove Sara found

  • Screwfixes work trousers
  • Calvin's underpants and
  • Nike's trainers

Someone left Slough one night starkers!

Teamwork is dreamwork

We mentioned Chris getting trollied later....he was actually referring to an actual trolley which in great team work style, Jenny and Chris fished it out of the stream and cleverly used it to carry the rest of their full bags of rubbish! Genuis!

Sutyee gets her centuree

Dont worry, I dont have another limerick on Sut! What I did want to say, which I know will be echoed by the rest of the team, is just how wonderful Sutyee is!

She did 38 of her 100 good deeds in lockdown alone! 25 of these were shopping tasks of food or medicine for those sheilding. On top of this she has been making weekly well-being calls to sheilding residents!

One of her callers even said:

I don't like Friday's because I know you cant call me at the weekends

Sut has been a huge factor in the success of Goodgym Slough. She oozes goodness and is known for never taking her red tee off... you get a new one now Sut! One with wings...

CONGRATULATIONS
