Report written by Rob
What a week for Jonny to be on holiday, missing the lovely drizzly rain we had tonight!
For tonight’s task, we were helping out the Canal and River Trust by litter picking our adopted part of the canal. After the short run from 1000 Trades, we were onto the canal where we split up into three groups and started litter picking. We then headed off to Aston locks where we left all the bags of rubbish we had collected. After a quick photo (with Sam showing us his kung fu moves), it was time to head to Millennium point to do our one mile time trial.
Unfortunately tonight was not the night for new PBs but, given the conditions, just to get around safely. Tom, John & George led the way with Liam, Will, Sam, Morwenna, Balal and Fiona all pushing each other along in the middle. A massive well done to Annie (who hasn’t run for a couple of months due to ankle problems) but still managed to push herself all the way around, even finishing with a sprint finish!
After we had all caught our breaths, it was time for the uphill run back to 1000 Trades.
Good luck to Balal who will be running an Ultra Marathon on Saturday and trying to get under 9 hours 30 minutes, we have our fingers crossed for you!
Next week normal service will resume when Jonny is back from his holiday (which I’m sure we’ll hear all about!). The sun should be out too, which is good news for our BBQ! I hope you all have a good week and see you next Tuesday.
