Keep calm and carrot on

A late request from Kieran to help at the Get Out community garden,as the frosty nights are behind us it was time to get some vegetables planted.
Kevin was tasked with frame building to stop the birds and squirrels feasting at the salad bar. Once construction was completed it was lettuce seed planting time before helping Kieran re bark chip the path ready for the children to enjoy next week.
Paula and I revitalised one of the beds ready for planting. As it is a permaculture garden we started by air-rating the soil before adding some compost. We planted leeks, carrots, chives and runner beans. Paula then watered in the plants and seeds, before we replaced the netting which hopefully will ensure the birds don't get to enjoy the vegetables.
A quick tidy up and bagging up some lettuce for us all to take home.
