Report written by York runner
A good bunch of GG Yorkies, some of whom had been celebrating the New Year well into the early hours, arrived fresh-faced and keen (well some of them anyway) for the first parkrun of 2023.
It was a lovely bright and sunny morning, although the Knavesmire wind was blowing and keeping us all cool. Various volunteer roles were filled, from backup timing, pacing, barcode scanning, finish tokens, funnel managing and photographer. These roles are vital to the running of a successful event so their help was invaluable, as are all the parkrun volunteers.
A great way to start off the New Year! Thanks everyone who came along and if you fancy volunteering again then here is the link to the volunteer roster: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/york/futureroster/
