Can you guess what we were handing out today from the title?
It's a big weekend here in Newcastle - GREAT NORTH RUN! The event kicked off today with Junior and Mini events, taking place on the Quayside. The many wonderful children (and their families) took part in 4k and 1.5k races. We were so taken aback by the huge dedication shown by even the littlest people!
Heel and Toe, a children's charity, are one of the main organisations supported by those taking part. Our task today was to show their appreciation by cheering on the children as they came across the line, giving them haribo (gold star if you guessed right!) and taking photos for the charity's social media of their achievement for them to look back on.
We split the busy day into shifts and had many teams of cheerers staggered along the finish line. It was a joy to see smiling faces as children completed their runs, and they should also be proud of the money they have raised for such a great charity.
Now, many of us are preparing (aka carb loading and sitting doing nothing) for our big races tomorrow. Whether you're running or supporting, we hope you enjoy another spectacular GNR!
