Kevin and I headed to Cody Dock to help out with their litter pick as part of Keep Britain Tidy Spring Clean

We were joined by Evie who is the new education coordinator for Cody Dock and several of their volunteers.

After collecting the equipment and loading the trolleys we headed towards Three Mills on the River Lea,todays task was to clean from the section from Three Mills to Twelve Trees Bridge.

It was still raining as we headed to the river but we would not let a little rain get in the way of improving this stretch of river for its human and animal visitors.

We have cleared this section previously and it was a pleasant surprise to find that this times there was much less litter that required clearing.

In two hours we managed to clear about 20 bags of rubbish plus several lengths of copper piping and a deck chair.

We then beaded back towards the dock to deposit the bags ready for the council to collect.
