Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Mike
Last weekend a couple of Cardiff GoodGym's very own M People (in that our names both begin with M) visited Mrs V to help pack up her belongings for not just one house move but two as she was preparing to move not only into a new house in Cardiff but also to sunnier climes in Spain.
You'd be forgiven that we were on the Mediterrean already though on a balmy Sunday lunchtime. We both arrived at Mrs V's house, Mikey having ran in the humid conditions, Mike having walked one whole street over and got stuck in.
Mrs V has lived in the house for over 25 years so it could be expected that there would be lots of packing into boxes but Mrs V was very organised and had not only done a lot of the packing herself but had arranged which boxes were to stay in Cardiff and which were to go to Spain. It was only through an accident that she wasn't able to complete the job herself.
A few of the jobs we were asked to do were: * Move a large wardrobe to get items stored behind it. * Take down shelves and a towel rail in the bathroom. * Take down pictures. * Remove a high shelf and the items on it. * Moving potted plants from the back garden to the front garden.
The bathroom shelves and towel rail both had us baffled for far too long but ultimately we were able to complete these jobs and it wasn't long before an hour was up and we made our way out until the sunshine again, reminding ourselves that we were actually in Cardiff.
