Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

A quick post-work furniture moving mission saw me reunite with Anne for our first mission together that didn't involve building a bed (Hurrah!)

Mr R had had some furniture moved by GoodGym just a few weeks ago. At this time, there wasn't enough room to move a couple of pieces of furniture until some additional space had been made. Now this had happened, our task today was to complete the job by moving a sofa into an adjacent room and by removing a couple of small furniture items from Mr R's flat.

We decided to get on with moving the sofa straightaway (or tout suite if you will) to make more room for moving the other bits of furniture. After a quick assessment of the sofa (why are leather 2-seaters so popular?!), we noticed that a random metal contraption had been affixed to the bottom. The function of this seemed to be to both raise the sofa further off the floor and to make it more difficult to navigate through doorways. Anne and I briefly considered removing it before deciding that we should just try moving the sofa anyway and seeing what the doorway decided to do.

This was not a good idea.

After managing to get the sofa stuck in the doorway (the metal contraption decided to get a foot stuck in the architrave ๐Ÿ˜ฌ), we spent a few minutes struggling to both hold the sofa and angle it to try and unstick the foot. Eventually, we decided to take a quick breather. Breathing seemed to do the trick, because the next time we touched the sofa it magically bent through the doorway with suspicious ease ๐Ÿคท We took the metal contraption off for the second doorway (which took us about 3 minutes and made us seriously wonder why we didn't do this in the first place), making the second part of the operation much simpler ๐Ÿ‘

Sofa moved, we finished off by moving a glass TV stand to a communal area and by moving a table outside for the council to collect.

Altogether, we finished within 20 minutes of our start time (awkward sticking sofa included). Making our goodbyes to Mr and Mrs R, Anne and I took a quick selfie before Anne ran off and I meandered along the tow path towards Stratford (making friends as I went - see photo).

Lovely working with you again, Anne! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ‘

There were some tense seconds! :D We figured that it would work out (& we would work it out) eventually though โ˜บ๏ธโœŒ๏ธ

Your mission reports need to be collected into some sort of booklet. Love reading these on the train in to work
