Never Miss a Wednesday
4 GoodGymers made their way to help the Oxford Mutual Aid in Oxford.
- Wednesday, 10th of November 2021

Surging requests for emergency food help, coupled with a drop in volunteer numbers and food supply issues and a squeezed budget have Oxford Mutual Aid under pressure.
Tonight was business as usual for our team - finish packing the food parcels for the weekly delivery routes, then pivot to preparing the parcels to go to those seeking urgent food support.
Last week's Oxford Mutual Aid stats:
Last week OMA delivered emergency parcels to 89 households: 171 adults, 47 children and 10 babies. A total of 228 people.
On one day alone (Wednesday), OMA had a whopping 24 requests for emergency help -many of those parcels packed on our Wednesday GoodGym shift. In terms of unique individuals, that is a 48% increase on last week.
