On a beautiful autumn evening, I had the pleasure of accompanying a gentleman referred to GoodGym by Richmond Good Neighbours to do something that has been a long-time dream of his - tap dancing! We first have an adventure maneuvering his wheelchair to the location (who knew how uneven the streets and pavements of Richmond are!) and then with the help of a friendly caretaker we ride up the lift to the Dance Academy. Our talks and laughter and people and dogs we meet along the way is already a treat but then we get to the class and that's a whole new whirl. He taps away in his chair, while I having dusted off the cobwebs from my tap shoes, give it a go too. It seems it is never too late!
