Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Croydon runner
In a momentous week when Good Gym celebrated its 10th birthday, two of South London’s finest Good Gymers took on the first of the day’s two missions.
Conroy and Ian took a short trip up the road from the usual group run meeting place to Ms C, who had requested a clear up of old wood in her back garden.
Trolley'd
Conroy got down to business and sorted a wide variety of bits and pieces of wood into piles that had accumulated over the years including fence panels, part of a roof plus an old metal trolley (which unfortunately we couldn’t use to move the wood as the wheels were stuck fast). Ian began removing and stacking these for later collection as refuse/recycling.
Planks
In true GGCR0 style we finished the job working together to move and stack the remainder of the wood panels, planks etc.
Ms C said she was very pleased with the final result and you could tell it was a weight off her shoulders. She is now able to access her back gate, and the garden and area around it is now clear and looks much improved.
Second Mission not Impossible
I did wonder if Conroy would suggest a few quick front and side planks but there was no time for that as it was on to the second mission of the day at this evening’s group run!
Croydon
Helping to make the churchyard more accessible to all, particularly the elderly and those with impaired mobility.
