Its MONDAY.......Yay......... Darkness was upon us as the gang gathered for another awesome evening of walking, running, fitness, fun and good deeds. Not necessarily in that order though.
After our compulsory warm up it was time for our circle of work. The team get into a circle and i pass a dice to the first player. He /she then throws the dice and what ever number it lies on is the amount of star jumps the team has to do. All team members in the circle get to throw the dice. Let me tell you as a trainer i was very disappointed this week due to the lack of high numbers being thrown. On the other hand, the team were really pleased with themselves :-)
It was now time to head out to our good deed for the evening. We split into two teams. Runners and Walkers. Susan took the option of taking the runners out and i looked after the walkers. On arrival we were greeted as always with big smiles, and this week, a lot of brooms too. Tonight it was our job to get as much as the top sand off the astro pitch as possible. Now, if you're looking for a workout, this is it!
NOW, IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A WORKOUT, THIS IS IT!
We didn't hang around. Bam!! straight in with a team of sweepers and a teams of scoopers. It wasn't long at all till the back muscles and arms started to fade a little, so for those that wanted swapped between sweeping and scooping. However we did have a couple of hardcore goodgymers who stayed with the sweeping :'-)
With all the hard work time just flies by, and before we knew it, it was time to head back to basecamp Crooklog. This was done by the way of a full on sprint. Boy, that always opens up the lungs.
With everyone safely back we announced some of the events going on within Goodgym over the next few weeks, as well as any local events we had planned. I also thought it would be good to have a one question quiz to finish on. The winner was to receive a TrueStart hikers water bottle. The question was, 'How old was the youngest person to complete 48 marathons?' The answer; It was a young man called Budhia Singh. He completed 48 marathons before his fifth Birthday. Well done Peter who was the closest, coming in with an answer of 14 years old.
Well, that concluded another brill evening with Goodgym. See you all next week, you were all awesome..............
Great location that looks after the well being of our children and local community
