5 damp GGers met Beki from the Council at the gardens by the river on a rainy lunchtime. Fortunately the recent river flooding had receded and we could access the garden. We quickly set too, clearing the nettles and overgrowth with spades, forks & mattocks, avoiding the needles which Beki disposed of. The alloted time sped by, the light rain was ignored, bags were filled with green waste, tools collected up and we were rewarded with Barbara's fabulous, now famous chocolate fridge cake. Beki thanked us for our hard work and progress. Then employing all forms of exercise (cycling, running, walking) we headed off in our different directions.
