17 hardy GoodGymers gathered on a sweltering Bank Holiday to trot 2 miles to Monk Stray and finish the fencing which we had started last month. True to form we couldn't find Beki immediately but finally tracked her down in the far corner and quickly split into small groups. Some were assigned to the demolition of the old fencing, some carried fencing stakes and fence roll and still others hefted the post whackers (technical term).

Our weekend Ultra marathon crew - Becky, Leanne & Tim who had this afternoon only just returned from their 160km tour of the Isle of Wight contented themselves with holding small quantities of nails and looking intrepid while Max ran around like a loon doing all of the tasks at once. Ian immediately injured himself so Nick had to use both of his BandAids from the sparsely stocked GoodGym First Aid Kit. Ian pointed out that the "post whacker was Branded Griffin", so this was added to the famous Griffin Claw in the Lexicon of GG tools.

Lucy was overcome with a fit of the giggles when she just how small one of the fence panels was, but finally agreed that it was actually quite cute, Jenna once again proved a dab hand with a hammer, while Ben and Ellie had several domestics over the correct way to carry the stakes before they got down to some super quick serial post whacking.

We finished what we could but once we had used up all of the fencing it was time for a last minute replacement for the planned and hated "bleepin' bloomin' bloody bleep bleep test" - a quick set of partner drills on the stray culminating in a very planky, lungy, burpee-ridden episode of "light the fuse" which proved just how easy it is to persuade 16 'sane' adults to pretend that they are fireworks while performing star jumps in full view of passers by - amazing!

Hats off to our Ultra Marathon King and Queens and we'll see you all again next week when Leanne takes over as run leader, meanwhile good luck to Egg who has her foot operation this week - hope to see you back at the helm again soon Egg
