Arguably one of the most beautiful spots in Bath, our run training session was held on Warleigh island.
We cycled, walked and ran to the session and popped our bags to one side whilst we did our warm up.
After 2 laps around the island, Helen explained the session. The session was split into two blocks. The first block was to jog out 80 metres, then sprint back and perform 10 reps of a body weight exercise. We alternated between push ups, squats and lunges. After 10 minutes we have a 3 minute break and then we moved onto the second block.
The second block had 2 people run the island in one direction and 1 in the other direction. When the runners past one another we would change pace. This style fartlek session helps to change up a runners pace at irregular times. 10 minutes later and we were finished.
The session went incredibly quickly and we were amazed how we were the only ones on the island. We rewarded our efforts for a dip in the beautiful waters and time to relax on the island :) Well done everybody!
