Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Anji Andrews (she/her)
It was our GoodGym Earth Hour community mission as we tackled weeds at Nunsmoor Park.
Our monthly mission to clear the park and make it a better and safer place for the community means we are regularly around to see the difference we are making to this real hidden gem.
People are commenting how much safer they feel now the park is clearer
Weeds were pulled up and paths cleared in both the sensory garden and bike garden area as we rolled up our sleeves and basked in some gorgeous springtime sunshine. As always, the Friends of Nunsmoor Park were delighted to have 7 extra pairs of hands to really make a difference to their volunteer group.
It was an important task for GoodGym stalwart routemaster pro Paul, who reached the all important black tshirt milestone.. his 50th Good Deed! Expect to see him swishing around and looking fabulous in the Geordie Cloak of Good Deeds on Monday.
Well done everyone!
Hope to see you as we head back to Nunsmoor to tackle the lock ups at Nunsmoor Centre on Monday where there's also a walking option.
Have a super sunny weekend,
Anji x
The Bike Garden is a vibrant community space developed on the site of a previous bowling green in Nuns Moor Park, which now serves the community as a place to join in on regular food growing activities, place to hire for private and public events, that may be regular or one-offs, and much more
