Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
29 Lambeth runners covered 6-8km to help out at the Palace Road Nature Garden
A big group of runners braved the oven-like temperatures for the launch of Lambeth's second inaugural Bake Off sweep stake, and to help Gerry at the Palace Road Nature Garden.
The team sliced into two groups for different routes up Brixton hill to the garden.
The 3km runners whipped their way straight up the hill while the others stirred through the streets of Lambeth covering about 4km.
At Palace Road, Gerry had a series of challenges for the group. From the more technical: raking, hoeing, and chopping; to the show-stopper railings that needed clearing. There was a lot to get done in the time, but with GoodGym Lambeth on hand it was a recipe for success.
Everyone whisked their way back down the hill to Papa's via the 3 or 4km routes and arrived back to congratulate this week's star bakers: first-timers John, Alice, Ed, Katie and Matt, not to mention new Head Chef for Fulham and Hammersmith, Anna!
We also say a sad GOODBYE to Leisha who is moving to Sheffiled. She's been a huge part of GoodGym for the last few months and we will miss her. Good luck in your new job Leisha!
And for the Bake Off SWEET Stake draw
As a reminder for those involved, just bring along some baked goods the Tuesday after your baker goes out, ideally in-keeping with their week's theme.
