Report written by Woking runner
Adam and Anne met at the leisure centre and ran to the allotment where James, this week’s reluctant key and tools holder met them. In fact Adam had already run to the venue, but ran back to keep Anne company… Thank you Adam.
The plot looked beautiful covered with thriving wild flowers overtaking the beans, artichokes, the only pumpkin we could find and the rows of potatoes we could not see! Adam and Anne filled up several wheelbarrows of the invading plants while James made it his mission to find as many potatoes as possible. The crop was not bad at all and we added the regular rhubarb.
It would have been more productive if more GoodGym Woking members could have joined us, let’s hope we can clear the plot next time.
James is on his way to reach his target of running 100 miles in August to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust. Nearly there James!
See you all, either this coming Sunday in Woking park to help with junior parkrun or next Wednesday when we will run from WWF carpark to Brockhill care home to paint some garden furniture.
In the meantime, happy running to everyone!
