The question on all our lips is undoubtedly Where has all the sunshine gone? Well, if I knew the answer to that I would be on BBC1 after the news and not here with you wonderful people ;-)

Hurricane Bertha has now been and I would say gone but I fear if I speak to loudly she will return and bring the horrid wind and rain with her.

Thankfully this evening we were blessed with apocalyptic clouds and a pleasant North Westerly breeze.

For those of you who chanted Rain Rain go away come again another day I thank you.

Tonight’s task was a simple one. Make our way swiftly to Makerversity at Somerset House and help them clear a space so that they can create new opportunities by building a workshop for use by young people.

Makerversity is a work space for start-up making and manufacturing businesses, and applied learning opportunities. They provide access to a range of fabrication and prototyping tools, spaces, event and learning facilities. They exist to support emerging practice, learning and employability opportunities for young people in the heart of London.

We arrived as promised bang on 6:45pm and got to work. We were shown the space, which was filled with wood wood and more wood. On the other side some metal, plastic, acrylic and loads of rubbish. We had 30 minutes to clear one room and half a courtyard.

Did we do it? Of course we did. Working like a team of professionals we made easy work of lifting and shifting from room to skip, room to skip, room to skip until it was all gone. No splinters, no cuts, no nothing.

Chris and Elodie were pleasantly surprised at the amount that we managed to get shifted and asked us to return in a few weeks to do more good…

Out the door and off we went, some sprinting down the embankment to Millennium Bridge, some sprints up and down the steps. Guess what? More sprints across the bridge, some chanting, high fiving and a steady jog back to base. Smiles alllllllll round

A truly enjoyable evening surrounded by like-minded people getting #FitForPurpose

As always thank you all for your help. See you next week and please continue to do small things with great love.
