Patrick vs Pavement
5 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Sunday, 12th of July 2015
All 5 wonderful goodgym runners arrived early and were ready to get started in clearing Rachel's front garden. Rachel has some problems with her mobility and therefore needs help with clearing her garden. The garden was full of ivy, spiky weeds, overgrown plants and lots of roots! We split into two groups to tackle each side of the garden, using various tools and some gloves to wipe the area clear. Once most of the nasty weeds were piled up we started lifting up the pavement slaps, which Patrick in particularly finding an enemy in the concrete! After an hour of hard physical work we had made two HUGE piles of weeds/roots and removed at least a dozen pavement slaps - well done gang. Rachel was very pleased with our work and kindly gave us some juicy pears.
We all then went our spread ways with Ria and Beth having a break before their afternoon mission at the Roman Way Market - impressive stuff guys!
