Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
10 Goodgym runners went for a Writtle run to Church
10 hardy souls met for tonight's Goodgym session despite the darkness and drop in temperature. The task was to do some cleaning at All Saints Church in Writtle. We welcomed newbie Caroline and celebrated Joel's parkrun PB from Saturday!
All right in the long run A slightly longer run than usual ment we decided to warm up on the way. We ran to Central park to do some drills, ran on to the viaduct for some mountain climbers and stopped after the subway for some lunges. set 2 of lunges with front side and backwards lunges by Admirals park completed the warm up and we continued along the foot paths to Writtle led by our head torches, and Richard 2!
No time to loose cleaning the pew's On arrival Allan greeted us and informed us that the Choir were starting practice at 7.30, earlier than he had anticipated, leaving us only 20 minutes do our work, at least the noisy bits. Whilst secretly hoping to be serenaded whilst we worked we set to task cleaning the pews and dusting in high places, and did a bit of vacuuming. As usual the team worked fast and enthusiastically and were all done by the time choir practice was due to begin. Politely refusing offers to join the choir we set off back to base at double quick pace.
Relay the good news! As we passed our favorite hill run section on route we paused to do a quick relay (in both senses of the word!) but much to the disappointment of some, a British military fitness group were already running hills, so we decided to move to a flat section and push the pace there instead. a 2 person, 2 lamp post relay followed leaving Rachel and Richard 1 the victors! Rumors of Ken trying to cheat by pushing Joe out of the way in a sprint finish have not been confirmed.
the last stretch After the relay excitement a slightly more relaxed pace followed on the way back to the Hub where we stretched and discussed future events.
I will update the task for next week soon, but sign up here anyway!
