Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by John Bourton
Three of us attended to help set up the tables and chairs for the cafe which meets weekly and aims to reduce isolation in the community. It is a zero waste organisation and also provides surplus food for people to take paying as they can. GoodGym has been helping with the setting up and clearing away for sometime now alongside many regular volunteers who staff the cafe. It’s a sad fact that numbers continue to grow reflecting increasing need with 80+ attending each week.
Intercepts surplus food from going to waste to redistribute in our open-access community cafe and shop. We feed bellies not bins and welcome anyone regardless of need to tackle the climate emergency, build community and reduce social isolation also providing many work experience /volunteering/job opprotunities.
