Report written by Michael
A later start for our final run at the festival, and what a time it's been so far. The music last night was well on point, so the later start was certainly worth it. As our group got together, we made sure everyone had topped up their water bottled for the run, as this run was purely coastal with no options along the way for water.
We passed out the bags and gloves for safety, Michael had managed to get 48 pairs of gloves for the festival - which someone on run #1 had commented
look like the gloves of a serial killer
Hmmmmmmm.
A quick warm up, and it was time to make our last journey through the festival site to the cheers of others sat enjoying food. This was a beautiful route, which Michael knew only too well from previous lovetrails past. A very mixed terrain, and thankfully not too dirty for plogging, but a good challenge for a run.
We eventually got to the stepping stones, and the water was up today...... only one option,
After a brief stop to watch everyone else cross safely, and a couple of hardcore jumpers, we continued the run to the beach. We soon arrived to the lush sounds of the waves crashing on the shore, which unfortunately was soon followed by the only rain of the festival. We did 20 minutes on the beach cleaning what we could find, 6 full bags by the end of it.
Time to make our way back, a workout with the heavy bags and as we returned to the tracks the rain cleared and the sunshine returned.
What a great festival this year, so many memories and good things done. But it's not over yet, more music with two closing gigs - here's to next year.
