Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Patrick Luong
Two GoodGymmers made a great start to H's garden makeover by shifting SIX HUGE BAGS of branches, thorns and ivy and yet no weeds were encountered during the process!
This was Prima's first mission to support an elderly isolated person in a nearby community. It was certainly not my first!
Meet our host
H has lived in her home for ten years and was referred to GoodGym by her estate manager. She is unable to enjoy the last of the summer time as her garden has become overgrown and rather unwelcoming due to branches, prickly thorns and nettles dominating the landscape.
What a brown and sticky mess!
It was clear that we would need more than visit to complete the garden transformation so we focused on giving H access to her garden and concentrated on the area immediately by her patio door.
So this meant we cut, (carefully) folded, snapped and bagged SIX massive bags of sticks, branches and thorns - luckily I had some decent gloves.
Prima also made a start on the ivy just by the patio access.
It's good to talk!
It was surprisingly hard work, but it was made easier with music and really good chats about GoodGym missions, changing careers and diets. Prima has recently become a vegan and I'm trying to reduce my meat consumption.
Until next time
H was thrilled with the progress and ever so grateful; she will need some more help from GoodGym to deal with the nettles and ivy at the back and sides of the garden and hopefully we can help her enjoy the last of the summer sun.
