Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Bristol runner
A nice pre-Christmas mission for Rich and myself and big kudos to Rich for including a mahoosive run there and back to bring up his 300th good deed.
Arriving at Mr D's house we were greeted by his daughter who asked if we could tidy the front garden which was somewhat covered in leaves and a bit overgrown and said she would leave it up to us what we chose to do and led us to a greenhouse which housed an array of tools.
With neither of us being expert gardeners we found ourselves armed with a rake, some shears, a hoe and a weeding fork and just decided to go for it.
Raking up the leaves into 4 different plastic buckets and bins we then ferried these round to the compost area in the back garden, clearing the litter that had hidden itself under the leaves - amidst lots of leaf based puns :-)
With the leaves gone we decided to give a rather unruly looking bush at the top of the garden a bit of Christmas Shear and removed some brambles from the side of the garden - cue lots of shear based puns.
By now the garden was starting to look much better, but there was still time to weave a bit of magic and get rid of some of the weeds in the flower beds - Rich brandishing the hoe with such expertise that the weeds didn't stand a chance, whilst I took out the larger deeper rooted stuff with the fork. Time for the hoe puns!
Job done and refreshed by tea and coffee as we worked we said our goodbyes and finalised our pun for the report adding a little Christmas sprinkle to it for good measure.
How lovely that I could do my last mission before Xmas with Rich as he reached another GG milestone - yay!
