I began my litter hunting at 6pm non-sharpish. The air was filled with the sounds of music, and all around me attendees were joyful for what Party In The Ponds offered up as entertainment. Many food stalls offering up cuisine from all around the world from Jamaica to Sri Lanka. Many homemade item stalls with items created by expert craftsmanship, candy for the kids, booze for the adults. All in all, I and my crack team of volunteers from Friends of Vassal's Park managed to sedate the litter horde from gaining roots and collected so much that the twenty industrial sized bins were overflowing, thus having to build a wall of black bags around said bins. Many went home feeling jovial, and more than slightly tipsy, and as the sun set I waved goodbye to the volunteers and organisers. See you next year Party In The Ponds..

Richard and I joined forces with a small army of Basalm bashing fanatics. The sun was high and the day was hot and many a time I had to wipe the sweat from my brow, but after a few hours we cut the number of Himilayan Basalm down from the hordes already rooted around us.(I got stung by a nettle at the top of my ear which I didn't appreciate whatsoever.)

We Rock (ran) and Roll (walked) to Hebron to continue the battle (of Evermore) against the bramble (on)!
The rain (song) had stopped in the evening, and despite me feeling a little dazed and confused, we headed over the hills and far away to continue to give the bramble no quarter!
Only one reported bramble injury tonight, but it was nobody's fault but mine.
Jerry would love us to come back, as long as I stop putting song titles in the reports, so iIm sure we'll be back soon as I've ran out of Led Zeppelin titles I know.. next week, The Beatles!
Last Picture is the anonymously placed statue is Princess Caraboo (centre) :-)
